Biographies of Creative Team:
Artistic Director, Choreographer, Performer, Writer, and Co-Designer
Cori Caulfield (BFA Dance, Simon Fraser University) is a Vancouver based choreographer, interdisciplinary performer, instructor, and the artistic director of Coriograph Theatre. She has performed in the work of esteemed Canadian choreographers such as Cornelius Fischer-Credo, Jennifer Mascall, Grant Strate C.M., and others. She is the first dancer to work with Crystal Pite's Kidd Pivot, and has been touring internationally in Pite's Uncollected Work since 2001.
Her “portrait solos” have been presented in Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Whitehorse, and Quebec City; in Portland, Oregon (Time Based Art Festival, 2004), and Zagreb, Croatia; and, since 1998, numerous times in Toronto, Ottawa (Canada Dance Festival 1998, and 2000); Seattle (On the Boards, and Bumbershoot 2004); Montreal, and New York City (Joyce Soho Theatre, Judson Church, and H.E.R.E. Arts Centre). She has also performed her solos on an eight city tour of Asia and in communities throughout British Columbia.
Composer and Sound Producer:
Mark Taylor is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music technologist. After performing with numerous rock and jazz bands he has moved to studio-based projects while continuing some live performing. Taylor has been producing music for dance for the last decade working most closely with Cori Caulfield. Compositions and arrangements include “Bone”, “Bought and $old”, and “West Coast Rain Box” for Caulfield’s Coriograph Theatre. He recently completed a commission for choreographer Amber Funk Barton. Dramaturge, Writer, and Spoken Word Artist
Myra Davies is a spoken word and performance artist, a published writer, an art historian, lawyer, and recording artist with a history in dance – as a ballet company manager, critic, and international tour producer and presenter. For molt, Davies acted as script development advisor and dramaturge and she created and recorded the character of The Raven Queen. In collaboration with Berlin sound artist, Gudrun Gut, Davies has three CDs of spoken word in release and, during the 2005/2006 season, she will be in Berlin to record and stage ‘The 40 Minute Ring,’ a comedic po-mo treatment of Wagner’s Ring Cycle. www.m-enterprise.de/miasma
Co-Designer:
Co-Artistic Director of (r)evolution theatre Jonathan Ryder has been a professional theatre artist since completing a B.A. Honours in Drama at the University of Saskatchewan in 1989. He has worked in Saskatoon, Calgary and Vancouver as a writer, actor, director, lighting designer, technical director (Vancouver East Cultural Centre, etc.), technician, and stage manager. He has designed for Kidd Pivot Dance, Touchstone Theatre, Modern Baroque Opera, Carousel Theatre, Green Thumb, Theatre Terrific, Theatre Bagger, Holy Body Tattoo, Movent, and now for Coriograph Theatre. Ryder has toured extensively in Canada and to Europe.
Projection Artist:
An award winning photographer, videographer and multi media producer, Tim Matheson started working in live theatre in 1987 using projection of imagery as an element of set design. 15 years and over 80 shows later, work with theatre, opera and dance has been a rewarding and ever expanding experience.
